But, if you need something to quickly clean up a recorded or live piece of audio, Bertom Denoiser is worth looking into. So, who is this plugin for? If you don’t need a super-advanced noise production tool, look elsewhere. Don’t push it too hard as this may introduce clearly audible noise reduction artifacts. One thing to keep in mind when using Denoiser is that it works best for moderate noise reduction. It operates similar to a dynamic equalizer, in the sense that there is no apparent phase shift when there is no noise reduction. Instead, it tracks how the noise part of the audio signal is evolving in each band and removes it. Unlike most noise reduction tools, Denoiser’s noise reduction algorithm doesn’t need to analyze a static noise profile. The slider on the left side on the interface controls the Threshold value for the noise reduction algorithm. All five sliders can be moved simultaneously by clicking and dragging the Link control. The interface features a pair of filters (high-pass and low-pass) and five vertical sliders for adjusting the noise reduction on five different frequency bands.
